Market and Trends

We are seeing some increased activity in the market place with some things beginning to move again. It seems we almost have a "slot limit" where homes that are priced in the market under $150,000 will move much more rapidly than those price over $300,000. We still see a good many foreclosure and short sale situations but those seems to be slowing somewhat. If you feel you have been waiting for just the right time to buy something this may be the time. With interest rates as low as I have ever seen them and the availability of very competitively priced homes in the market now is the time to buy. USDA, 100% financing money is still available.

FHA has changed some of their qualifications but FHA and VA financing are still viable options and allow for very little or no down payment. There is also some downpayment assistance...Click here to view complete article
 

Community and County Information

DOT projects currently underway in Henderson County include the widening of US 64 West through town and the addition of a school loop around cemetery. Four lane of US 25 bypass from Tuxedo to I-26 with completion date of this fall. Widening of Upward Road from Spartanburg Hwy, across I-26 and out to Howard Gap Road, this project is scheduled for completion by August 2013. The current bridge being built at Upward Road will actually be a temporary bridge while the state builds the new bridge in the current location of the existing road. When the new bridge is completed the temporary bridge will be dismantled.
