Community and County InformationThe current situation with the firing range at the Campus of the Western North Carolina Justice Academy in Edneyville is still an ongoing issue for local residents.The shooting range the state wants to build at the Justice Academy campus includes plans that call for a pistol range, rifle range, classrooms and SWAT training house. Edneyville residents are concerned about noise and the potential for stray bullets in the well populated area. Carolyn Justus and Tom Apodaca have introduced bills in the General Assembly.
