Community and County Information

Well, everyone should have received their new Henderson County property re-valuations by now. Most folks have seen an 8-10% decrease in property values. However, I have seen some properties on Lake Summit which have actually increased by more than 100%. The lake front properties on Lake Summit seem to be one of the only areas that have seen increases in tax values but those seem to be substantial. Although, most of us have seen our tax values decline, I kind of doubt we see our actual taxes follow suit. We are all anxious to see how this re-valuation and overall general decrease in tax values will affect what will undoubtedly be a new mil rate later this summer.

Jackson Park has received some much needed funding for taking care of some deferred maintenance items in the park. The main roadway through the park will be re-paved in late spring along with other ... Click here to view complete article
